After a pleasant Saturday, it looks like Sunday is shaping up to be a beautiful day.
We did get a little rain early this morning ... and some of it is still lingering in some mountain locations.
First off, there is no such thing as "earthquake weather." Now that we got that out of the way ... here's your forecast:
A cold front pushed through the area overnight and early Wednesday morning. There were some very light showers, but mostly in the ballpark of a trace of rain to a few hundredths of an inch.
The weather will to stay cool and cloudy for Southern California as we head into this first weekend of spring. Temps will be running 4 to 6 degrees below average for this time of year.
It's shaping up to be a mild hump day. Temperatures should be slightly warmer than Tuesday and well above seasonal averages.
Temperatures Tuesday will be similar to Monday but maybe a touch warmer with the off-shore flow.
Very hot temperatures have descended on the Southland.
We are waking up to patchy dense fog in some spots this morning, but we will clear out later for hazy sunshine.
We are looking at a general warming trend for the next couple of days.
A ridge of high pressure will start building into the region Monday giving us partly to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures into the upper 60s.
Aside from a few lingering showers ... things are settling down this evening. A ridge of high pressure is going to start building into the region tomorrow.
The center of this low pressure system is now just off the Central California coast ... it's going to open up into a trough through the night and it should exit our region pretty quickly at that point.
Get ready for more wet weather as this low pressure system spins in more rain and showers.
The storm has arrived, and it's living up to its promise. The first wave of heavy rain has passed, now it's just a steady stream of moisture moving into the area.
So this first wave moved in just as we forecasted. Don't be fooled when the sun comes out for a bit Thursday, storm 2 is still on track. This second storm will have quite a punch, especially Friday morning.
The two storms are still are on track for Wednesday afternoon, there are just some minor changes in timing and totals.
The stage is still set for a busy end of the week "weather wise." The first storm looks like it will move through the area from late Wednesday into early Thursday. Temps will most certainly drop from Tuesday through the end of the week.
A marine layer will help to keep temperatures down Tuesday, hovering at or slightly below average in the upper 60s to low 70s.
While there is more sunshine ... the temperatures are down a bit from the past couple of days. That's because we have a relatively cooler air mass.
High pressure is setting in and we are starting to warm up.
Look for general clearing conditions through the day. Temperatures will be similar to Sunday, but maybe a degree or two warmer.
The cooler weekend continues ... with temperatures running just a touch below average.
Look for more clearing skies Wednesday with temps still running below average topping out in the low to mid 60s.
