Darren Haynes

Darren M. Haynes is a 13-time Emmy Award–winning sports anchor and reporter with a distinguished career covering the biggest stages in sports. 

He currently serves as a Sports Anchor and Reporter at CBS LA (KCBS/KCAL). Previously, Darren worked at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C., and ESPN, where he anchored SportsCenter. His coverage includes the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Finals, World Series, NASCAR Cup Series Championship, and many other marquee events.

Darren has earned multiple Emmy Awards for Best Sports Anchor, Team Coverage, and Editorial and Commentary, along with multiple Southern California Golden Mike Awards and recognition from the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association. He is a six-time Associated Press Sportscaster of the Year and a two-time AP Best News Anchor Award recipient.

In 2021, Darren received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Wayne State University. He was inducted into the Amity High School Hall of Honor and the New Haven Football Hall of Fame in his home state of Connecticut. He has also been recognized by the NAACP as one of the "Most Influential Blacks.

He is also a passionate community advocate, supporting numerous charitable organizations. He founded the Junior Broadcast Program, mentoring more than 500 aspiring journalists, and Destined for Change, an initiative focused on empowering young adults.
