Woman arrested for allegedly threatening Metro bus driver in Hollywood
A woman was arrested on Saturday morning for allegedly threatening a Metro bus driver in Hollywood, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and N. Sycamore Avenue at around 8:30 a.m. after learning of an allegedly armed passenger who was threatening to shoot the driver, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
It's unclear why the threats were being made.
Metro officials say the incident happened on Bus Line 212, as it was traveling westbound on Hollywood Boulevard near N. Orange Drive. They say the bus driver quickly exited the bus and was unharmed.
"Thanks to the quick response from the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect was taken into custody shortly thereafter," said a statement from a Metro spokesperson.
No other passengers were on the bus when the incident occurred, they noted.
Police did not confirm if the woman was armed at the time of her arrest.
