Starbucks' Tip Jar Theft Leads To Helicopter Chase

COSTA MESA (AP) — Police in Costa Mesa have arrested three people after a helicopter chase that began with reports the trio stole money from a tip jar at a local Starbucks.

The Los Angeles Times reported Friday that officers responded to the Starbucks about the theft Thursday afternoon and discovered the suspects were fleeing the scene in a stolen car.

Costa Mesa police Lt. Bryan Glass says the car had been stolen in San Bernardino.

Authorities say two of the suspects posed as decoys while the third made off with the tip money.
