'All In The Family' Actress Jean Stapleton Dead At 90
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Emmy Award-winning actress Jean Stapleton has died at the age of 90, the Los Angeles Times and celebrity website TMZ.com reported Saturday.
Stapleton is most popularly known for her role as Edith Bunker on the long-running 1970s television series, "All in the Family."
A veteran of stage, film, and television, Stapleton was cast opposite Carroll O'Connor in the CBS sitcom. She won three Emmy Awards for her role.
The Times reports that Stapleton died Friday in New York City. Citing her family, the newspaper says she died of natural causes.
