Police Hunt For Parents Of 2 Abandoned Children
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (CBS) — Police Sunday searched for the parents of two children, a 4-year-old boy and his 3-year-old sister, who were left at an Inglewood apartment Saturday.
The children, who identified themselves as Kayshawn and Kimberly Denver, were in the care of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services Sunday, police said.
Neighbors first alerted police of the children, who were left at an apartment in the 300 block of West Queens Street about 4:30 p.m., Inglewood police Lt. Michael Marshall said.
Their parents have yet to be found as of midday Sunday, despite widespread news reports.
The lieutenant described the children as clean, well cared-for, lively and polite. "Someone has been raising them properly, Marshall said. "Someone out there should be looking for them."
