Parros To Miss 4 Weeks After Tearing Retina

ANAHEIM (AP) -- Anaheim Ducks enforcer George Parros will be out for four weeks after having laser eye surgery to fix a torn retina.

Parros had surgery Monday, the Ducks announced.

The veteran forward was injured when a deflected puck hit him in the left eye during Anaheim's practice in Detroit last Friday. He's expected to recover fully after surgery.

The 31-year-old former economics major at Princeton is in his sixth season with the Ducks. He has 12 goals and 442 penalty minutes over the past three seasons in Anaheim.

The last-place Ducks return home Wednesday night against Nashville after going 1-3-3 on a disappointing seven-game road trip.
