OC Police Crash Leaves SUV Driver Hospitalized
ORANGE (CBS) — Two officers and two prisoners escaped injury on Wednesday after colliding with a sport utility vehicle that may have run through a red light, sending the female driver to the hospital.

The police car was southbound on Batavia Street about 11:15 p.m. when it hit the eastbound Jeep Cherokee on Chapman Avenue, Orange Police Department Sgt. Dan Adams said.
The Jeep flipped over and the unidentiifed driver, who is in her 30s, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life- threatening, Adams said.
Witnesses told police the woman appeared to drive through a red light, Adams said, adding that the police car's lights and sirens were not activated at the time of the crash.
The two officers and two prisoners escaped injury, Adams said, adding that the backseat passengers had been en route to jail.
The California Highway Patrol will investigate the accident, which is routine when a police agency is involved in a collision, Adams said.
