Man arrested for murder as victim dies two weeks after shooting in San Bernardino County
A man was arrested for murder on Sunday more than two weeks after a shooting in unincorporated San Bernardino County that left one person dead.
It happened on Jan. 26 at around 1:25 p.m., at which point deputies were dispatched to the 6300 block of Cayucos Drive in Phelan, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
"Upon arriving, deputies located a male, later identified as Adan Rodriguez, suffering from a gunshot wound," said SBSD's statement.
Rodriguez, 31, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment where he remained until Feb. 4, when he died from the injuries he suffered in the shooting.
Investigators determined that the shooting had occurred at a home in the 6300 block of La Mesa Road, but at the time they did not have any information on the suspect.
After Rodriguez died, Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail detectives assumed the investigation and were able to determine that the suspect was 59-year-old Ramiro Liraaro.
He was located and arrested on Sunday before he was booked for murder. He remains behind bars without bail.
