Longtime Rams Fans In SoCal Say Team's Return Is 'Dream Come True'

WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — A longtime Rams football fan in Westminster is elated the team will be returning to Southern California.

Sal Martinez, an Orange County barber, has had a love affair with the team since he first saw the horn on the helmet at the age of 7.

As he grew, his love for the team grew that much stronger. He even named his Westminster shop the Golden Ram.

Inside, every wall, shelf, and even the bathroom are decked out in blue and gold and feature vintage photos and memorabilia, including autographs.

Martinez, who is also the president of a local Rams booster club, says when the big announcement came Tuesday, he cried like a baby.

"I turned the lights off and I just started crying like a baby. I was just so overwhelmed with all that emotion for 20 years the Rams have been gone," he said.

Henry Yep, a former Rams photograph, says the Rams return is a dream come true. He shot many a game from the sidelines here in Southern California.

"Right now, I'm pretty much in shock," he said. "But I'm happy. I just hope that I'm not sleeping."
