Long Beach police searching for hit-and-run suspect in crash that left other driver hospitalized

Long Beach police are searching for a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash in late March.

It happened at around 9 a.m. on March 26 at the intersection of Del Amo Boulevard and Brayton Avenue, according to a press release from the Long Beach Police Department.

Investigators have determined that the suspect, driving a dark-colored Toyota pickup truck, was traveling westbound on Del Amo when he collided with a silver Hyundai.

"Following the collision, the driver of the truck exited the vehicle, examined the damage, then returned to his vehicle and drove away, northbound on Brayton Avenue," LBPD's release said.

The driver of the Hyundai was hospitalized following the crash with moderate injuries, police said.

They've described the suspect as a heavy-set man with brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a sweatshirt, multi-colored pajama bottoms and light-colored "Croc" style shoes.

Anyone who knows more is asked to contact LBPD investigators at (562) 570-7355.
