LA Dodgers Celebrate 'Taiwan Night'
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles Dodgers will conduct 'Taiwan Night' at Saturday night's game against the Houston Astros at Dodger Stadium.
They will feature a pregame tribute to Los Angeles' Taiwanese-American community.
The Taiwanese dance group, the Third Prince Group, will be joined by 100 members of ethnic communities from all over Southern California in performing a dance in traditional Taiwanese costume to commemorate long-lasting friendship between Taiwanese immigrants and Los Angeles.
"The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" will be sung by Vincent Yao, a 16-year-old from San Jose who won ETTV's "Top Idol" singing competition.
The first 20,000 fans entering the stadium will receive posters of the Dodgers' Taiwanese pitcher, Hong-Chih Kuo.
