STUDIO CITY (CBS) — A thick marine layer has blanketed the Southland this morning, which will translate into a gray, and in some cases, damp start to your morning.

The marine layer is running about 3,500 feet deep, which is enough to give us some drizzle in localized spots throughout the region.  We are going to continue with this "troughy" pattern.

We will see the low cloud cover in the morning and hazy sunshine in the afternoon. However, some coastal cities may have a tough time clearing at all. Tomorrow's marine layer may not be quite as thick, so there is less of a chance at this widespread drizzle.

There will be a slight bump in temperatures Friday, even though we will still be below average.  For the weekend, another trough digs into the West Coast and will keep our temperatures well below average for this time of year.

In fact, there is no real warm up for the next 10 days.

Valleys -  upper 60s
Deserts -mid 70s
Mountains - upper 60s
