High-speed pursuit ends with barricade in Lakewood
A high-speed pursuit involving a stolen police vehicle ended with a barricade in Lakewood Monday night.
Around 11:30 p.m., officers from the Huntington Beach Police Department stopped a driver for multiple warrants.
During the arrest, the man got hold of one of the patrol vehicles and drove off. A high-speed pursuit began.
While the driver was trying to get away, he attempted to hit the two officers, the HBD said.
Around 3 a.m. after the pursuit, the driver got out of the vehicle and barricaded himself somewhere near Claretta Avenue and Centralia Street in Lakewood
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Seal Beach and Huntington Beach police responded to the scene. The man was taken into custody and taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
It is unclear how the man got away during the arrest. No officers were injured during the incident.
