Grandmother Arrested After Allegedly Locking Baby In Sweltering Car To Go Party
VICTORVILLE (CBS) — Deputies say a grandmother chose partying over parenting when she locked her infant grandson in a sweltering car so she could go to a wedding reception.
The 55-year-old woman placed her grandson in a car with the windows rolled up outside a social hall in Victorville Saturday.
Someone saw the 11-month-old child and called 911.
When deputies reached the baby his temperature was nearly 103 degrees.
The grandmother and her 51-year-old friend were arrested and later charged with child cruelty.
The baby was reportedly in good condition.
