Dodgers Reconsider Beer Promotions In Wake Of Opening Day Attack

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Half price beer nights at Dodger Stadium may be on ice for now.

The Los Angeles Times reports the organization is reconsidering the promotions, as well as prices and serving sizes.

The announcement comes in the aftermath of a brutal attack on San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow on opening day.

The Los Angeles Police Department plans to increases its presence at the stadium.

Dodgers owner Frank McCourt has agreed to pay overtime expenses for the extra Los Angeles police presence that is being sent to the stadium in the wake of the beating and stressed the policy change is not connected with the controversy.

Meantime, the Dodgers are asking fans to help with expenses for Stow. Cash and checks will be accepted Monday at Dodger Stadium. The fundraiser will run from 8 a.m. through 3 p.m. in Parking Lot 1.
