BELLFLOWER (AP) — Los Angeles County authorities say a 17-year-old boy has been shot and killed along a main thoroughfare in Bellflower.

Sheriff's Deputy Tony Moore says the boy was standing on Bellflower Boulevard late Saturday when a vehicle drove up and someone inside opened fire.

The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

City News Service says the suspect's car was described as a newer model gray Honda.

Investigators have not released any information about a possible motive.
