Beauty On A Budget: Aveda Institute
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — If your hair need a cut or color, our beauty on a budget team found a beauty academy that provides a high-end salon feel.
At the Aveda Institute in Westwood, cosmetologists-in-training offer haircuts for as low as $19, depending on the stylist's experience. Highlights start at $25.
All services offered are supervised by licensed instructors.
Return customer Katie Scruton feels comfortable experimenting with a tone and color-melting treatment performed by an Aveda student recommended to her by a friend.
"Normally at another salon, I wouldn't even get this much work done, because it was just too expensive. I would just get highlights and a cut and that would be around $200 and this is only costing me around $75," Scruton said.
The Aveda Institute also offers affordable manicures and pedicures.
