Anaheim man arrested after trying to meet teenage girl in Riverside County

Authorities arrested a man who was trying to arrange a meetup with a teenage girl, who was actually an undercover detective.

Ryan Hagen, a 45-year-old Anaheim resident, was arrested and booked on suspicion of communicating with a minor for illicit purposes and sending pornographic material to an underage person, Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies said in a press release. He was released from Robert Presley Jail in Riverside after he posted $55,000 bond.

The investigation began in early April when detectives with an undercover unit focusing on predator stings made contact with Hagen on a social media account they created to make it appear that it belonged to a 13-year-old girl, said the press release.

"During several weeks of communication, Hagen asked for sexually gratifying pictures and numerous sex acts and agreed to meet," deputies said.

They coordinated with the Redlands Police Department to arrest Hagen, who arrived at the planned rendezvous point on West Park Avenue in Redlands. He was taken into custody without incident.

"Several communication devices were also located and collected as evidence," deputies said.

Anyone who has more information on the incident is asked to contact Deputy Hartert at (951) 210-1000.
