Tuesday Tidbits

Yes!  It's our new blog entry!  Today is not only Taco Tuesdays but Tuesday Tidbits!  It's like random thoughts, random pictures and random events.  So here you go...  Tina and Ju

Recently went to Boon Boon Cafe... this is one of my favorite places to eat.  Owner/Chef Linda is such a dear and is very passionate about her food.  The pic is of the drunken noodles with vegetables - very good!

Comedian/Actress Anjelah Johnson was in Sacramento last week performing at the Punchline Comedy Club.  So funny!  It's always nice to visit with her and tease her as well.  She does a very good Filipino accent!  I find her twits (is that what you call it when people write on twitter?) funny too.

I did a live shot at Oto's Marketplace in south Sacramento.  We were introduced to natto which is a traditional Japanese food that is made with fermented soybeans.  It has a very distinct smell when warmed up and a taste that one has to acquire.  I don't think we liked it at all... especially from the look that our videograher Scott Zentner gave us.  HAAAAA!  Thanks to Russell Oto for teaching us about different food items!

Dave Grashoff show Grub Run last week with me and Jimboy's delivered.  This is Dave.  We love imitating one another.  This is the last week with Jimboy's as a Grub Run sponsor.  I am visiting the original Jim and his wife Margaret this Friday, 8/27 in the 9am hour.  He's 93 years old and started Jimboys back in the late 1950's.  Oh, there I am picking more tomatoes!!!

Celebrated Sharon Ito's birthday.  You know her from News 10 but did you know she worked for 31 many years ago?  We treated her to Ella and had delicious food.  That's Lorna Fong who is a big wig with the CA Health and Human Services and that's my daughter Carina. To the right is a great photo of the turkey burger that Carina had at Roxy.  It was tasty esp. the fries!

Nick Toma is on vacation and sent me this pic of him getting ready to eat a crab cake sandwich at a restaurant in the small town of Keyport in Jersey.  The pic to the right is what I made for dinner one night... ground turkey and Chinese long beans.  I actually cook once in awhile.  Tina
