John Lee Hooker, Jr. is a blues musician, born in 1952 in Detroit. He is the son of the late John Lee Hooker. The younger Hooker's musical style is markedly modernized, featuring contemporary arrangements. His 2004 debut album, "Blues With A Vengeance," was nominated for a Grammy. His third album, "All Odds Against Me" was released on August 19, 2008 and was nominated for a Grammy that year in the Best Traditional Blues category.

He found out that CHP K9 officer Rex was slated for retirement, but due to state laws could only retire with his handler or be put down. Since Rex's handler died, he was headed for the same fate. But one officer wasn't going to let that happen. After fighting for weeks to bring home Rex, he finally got the word it would happen.

The Solano Chapter of the Guardians of the Ribbon/Pink Heals is going to dedicate its pink fire truck in the memory of NorthBay Hospital Guild volunteer Christine Franklin. She passed away in 2011, but Franklin's family will be there to sign the truck. After the dedication, it will be ready for anyone who has been touched by cancer to sign it.
