Big Band Farewell
The NorCal Big Bands Preservation Society has been celebrating big band music for 70 years, but now they are down to their last dance. The group is holding its final farewell on May 19, and we are helping to celebrate by visiting with Executive Director Lou Coppola. He has more than 3,000 old records, some of which cannot be played on a turntable with a needle, but need a "bamboo needle" so they don't damage the record. We check out the collection and talk about the great years of big band music.
