Donut Shop Robbed Of Metal Mascot At Gunpoint
STOCKTON (CBS13) - A donut shop in Stockton was robbed at gunpoint this morning. But the store owner say his pricey mascot was what the robber was after.
At around 5 a.m. Thursday, an employee at Yum Yum Donuts was helping a customer when he saw a man outside trying to take a large statue of a robot. The man then tried to take a smaller lion statue sitting nearby.
When the employee and the customer went outside to stop the robber, he pulled out a gun and pointed it at the two. They backed off and let him take the lion.
The owner of the store, Delteran German, says the custom-made artwork is valued at $1,500.
The suspect is described as white and in his mid-40s. He drove away in a white Chevy pickup truck.
