Aly's SF Story: The Westin St. Francis
Hello faithful Good Day viewers! It's your favorite producer Aly Schulz with another San Francisco story to share!! It's been too long since my last posting and a trip was overdue! There is no better way to escape the monotonous Ground Hog Day grind than a weekend away in one of the most vibrant cities in the world! Since my last jaunt to San Francisco, I have been longing to get back for a much-needed shot of adrenaline. This time around I opted to stay at The Westin St. Francis because of the hotel's central location and reliable service. But I wanted to switch things up a bit! Instead of shacking up in the newer part of the hotel, I decided to check out the old building and stay in one of the historic rooms! What a treat!!!
Upon exiting the elevator in the old wing, my eyes immediately started scanning the hallway. This part of the hotel was built between 1904 and 1917, reflecting a turn-of-the-century charm brimming with ornate moldings, draperies and crystal chandeliers. If these walls could talk!!
It had never taken me so long to get to my hotel room but when I did I was greeted with the same classic pizzazz! The newer rooms at The Westin St. Francis are great places to lay your head, but the older rooms are true experiences. You have the creature comforts of the 21st century with the nostalgic nuances of the early 1900s (because this girl loves her fancy showerheads!!). This room is definitely fit for a VIP! The custom-designed classic dark wood furniture and light-colored wall coverings with a unique "hammered" appearance combined with contemporary abstract artwork and the signature Westin Heavenly Bed create a truly relaxing environment! Do yourself a favor and experience this for yourself!
