University Students Take Part In Remote-Controlled Airplane Competition
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - More than 400 university students from 72 colleges across the globe piled onto the Thunderbird Field in Fort Worth this weekend to compete in a remote-controlled airplanes competition.
The events lasted from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and was hosted by the Lockheed Martin.
The airplanes were made as a part of the SAE International's 2014 Aero Design® West Competition.
According to a press release, the competition "provides undergraduate and graduate engineering students with the engineering challenges of designing, building and testing their aircraft."
The event allows students to experience "real life" work situations and pressure.
