FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Tarrant County's four major hospitals will come together to try to save the lives of infants.

Cook Children's Medical Center is launching a safe infant sleep awareness campaign in collaboration with Baylor All Saints, JPS and Texas Health Harris Methodist.

The tweet chat is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. spreading the message of #SafeSleep.

Health experts say the numbers are startling and disturbing. According to Cook Children's, infants die of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS, than any other cause in Texas. And the number of children who die due to bed-sharing is at an all-time high with 197 deaths in Texas in 2014.

Tarrant County has one of the highest infant mortality rates among Texas counties, exceeding the national average.

During the live tweet chat, representatives from all four medical centers will gather at Cook Children's to spread the do's and don'ts of infant sleep via twitter.

Some key messages to be discussed include:
· Reasons you should NEVER swaddle your baby
· Where babies should sleep
· Leading causes of suffocation
· Dangers of sleeping in infant carriers
