Texas Motor Speedway Announces 2016 Race Schedule

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — Texas Motor Speedway announced its race schedule for 2016. That year will also be the venue's 20th anniversary.

The 2016 schedule features two races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series, according to the press release. Also included is the only stop in Texas for the Verizon IndyCar Series, Duck Commander 500 NASCAR doubleheader in April, IndyCar/NASCAR doubleheader in June and AAA Texas 500 NASCAR tripleheader in November.

Season tickets go on sale Monday, Nov. 2. Head to the Texas Motor Speedway website for more information.

Duck Commander 500 NASCAR Doubleheader

  • Thursday, April 7 - NASCAR XFINITY Series practice for O'Reilly Auto Parts 300
  • Friday, April 8 - Qualifying day for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and XFINITY Series; XFINITY Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 race
  • Saturday, April 9 - Sprint Cup Series Duck Commander 500 race

Firestone 600 INDYCAR/NASCAR Doubleheader

  • Thursday, June 9 - NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice for Rattlesnake 400
  • Friday, June 10 - Qualifying day for Verizon IndyCar Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series; Camping World Truck Series Rattlesnake 400 race
  • Saturday, June 11 - Verizon IndyCar Series Firestone 600 race

AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Tripleheader

  • Thursday, Nov. 3 - NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice for Longhorn 350
  • Friday, Nov. 4 - Qualifying day for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Camping World Truck Series; NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Longhorn 350 race
  • Saturday, Nov. 5 - Qualifying day for XFINITY Series; XFINITY Series O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge race
  • Sunday, Nov. 6 - Chase for the Sprint Cup AAA Texas 500 race
