CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago police say a shooting in which a a man from Texas was wounded in the back did not happen near the city's "Magnificent Mile," as they initially reported.

Police spokesman Adam Collins said Sunday that the shooting late Saturday happened in another precinct and not near the city's premiere shopping district. He declined to say exactly where in the city the shooting happened, but said investigators believe it was drug-related.

Collins confirmed details about the shooting that police released earlier. The victim was a 48-year-old Texan who was shot in the back. He was treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Police didn't identify the victim.

No one was in custody.
