If you are out of school or off work this week and looking for something cool to do, go by the George W. Bush Presidential Center at SMU for the All Creatures Great and Small: Christmas at the White House 2002 exhibit. Now through January 13, all of us animal lovers can go back in time to 2002 when the White House Christmas theme celebrated the important role animals play in the White House. Highlights include replicas of First Family pets that were displayed throughout the White House, and the first edition of Barney Cam, a cool tradition through all of the President and Mrs. Bush's time in Washington, DC. Barney was the Bush's Scottish terrier.
Beginning this Saturday (11/29) and running through January 4, you can do some ice skating at the Hilton Anatole. Sparkle: Christmas at the Anatole includes an outdoor ice rink resembling a scenic pond, live stage entertainment by choirs and bands from area schools along with local musicians, kids' activities, tasty holiday treats, and millions of lights.
The Gaylord Texan Resort's 11th annual Lone Star Christmas has a ton of stuff to do and see. 2 million twinkling lights, 15,000 ornaments and dozens of lavish holiday displays. The ICE exhibit features Frosty the Snowman and his friends with more than 2 million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures. There is Santa's Wild Workshop Snow Tubing. Gingy's Gingerbread Decorating…Madagascar Crack-A-Lackin- Cook-In Breakfast and Milk and Cookies with Mrs. Claus.
You stress over it every year. Where to find the funkiest Christmas sweater? Fret no more. Head over to East Mockingbird in Dallas where you will find the Ugly Christmas Sweater Shop. They opened this past Saturday so you better get on over there while the pickin's are horrible.
Tired of fighting all that traffic in Highland Park trying to see Christmas light displays? I have the perfect thing for you. Texas Motor Speedway's Gift of Lights in Fort Worth will offer a drive-through exhibit feature more than 600 LED light displays plus the proceeds will benefit local charities.

Speaking of Fort Worth, The Parade of Lights is happening tomorrow evening (11/28) at 6 in downtown Fort Worth. You'll see more than 100 floats, and have the chance to take photos with Santa Claus at the Sundance Square Christmas Tree. Get more details by clicking on the link above.
Check out Skating Santa Missile Toes at the Dallas Galleria. This guy's skating involves sparks and backflips as part of the free ice shows that also feature Olympic, world and national champions. You can also check out what's billed as America's tallest indoor Christmas tree with nearly half a million lights and more than 10,000 ornaments.
Disney on Ice: Princesses and Heroes is happening at the Allen Event Center through this Sunday (11/30). Ariel, Sleeping Beauty's Aurora, Jasmine, Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, and Rapunzel will all be there with high-flying jumps, daring acrobatics, and breathtaking skating. Basically everything you would like to do while ice skating but can't.
Something else really cool for the entire family…The Trains at NorthPark .The most elaborate miniature toy trains exhibit in Texas includes trains rolling across 1,600 feet of track on a journey across America. The event benefits Ronald McDonald House.
The Dallas Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles this afternoon (11/27) at 3:30 at AT&T Stadium. Don't forget the halftime show, ya'll…its Pitbull…straight off his hosting duties on the AMA's. If you can't make it in person - be sure to listen locally on 105.3 The Fan.
Tonight (11/27) you can support an awesome cause. Fox's Cause for Paws: An All Star Dog Spectacular will feature Oscar winner Hilary Swank and other celebs as they try to find forever homes this Thanksgiving for shelter dogs. The two-hour program will have dog stories, viral videos, musical tributes, a fundraiser, and contests.
More than 4 million lights make up the drive-through holiday attraction known as Prairie Lights in Grand Prairie. This is great for those of us who are tired of all the gridlock in neighborhoods with holiday lights. New this year… a VIP pass with no waiting in traffic lines, a guided tour through the drive-through, fast passes for carnival rides and more.
The weather looks to be great this Saturday (11/29) for the Parker County Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Parker County Courthouse in downtown Weatherford.
If you are closer to Dallas, check out Monday's (12/1) "Light Up Lee Park" event. The Great Lawn at Lee Park is the place to see a light show, sip free hot chocolate, hear holiday classics from the Salvation Army Brass Band and take in a fireworks display.
The Galleria Dallas is teaming up with Operation Kindness hosting dog and cat pet adoptions. Adoption fees: $125 for cats/kittens and $175 for dogs/puppies. Adoption fees help cover the costs of caring for the animals at Operation Kindness, such as tests, vaccinations, collars, tags, micro chipping, spay/neuter surgery, medical procedures, surgeries, rehabilitation and recovery.

The holidays are here which means it is Nutcracker time. See the Texas Ballet Theater's rendition of the Nutcracker now through Monday (12/1) at the Winspear.
This weekend (11/28) and through December 20, you can see Southfork Ranch of Dallas fame in Christmas mode. They'll have a live animal manger scene…themed Christmas movie displays, and my favorite…Photos with Reinsteers. That would be Texas Longhorns dressed at reindeer ya'll.
Put on those running shoes and work off that mountain of food you ate today. Check out the Run Rock Dallas event Saturday (11/29) at Fair Park.

This band started out as Fozzy Osbourne… but due to the fact that most wasted headbangers couldn't remember that many syllables, they just shortened it to Fozzy. Sure, they did covers…but they were cool covers of tunes made famous by bands like Dio, Krokus, Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe and Judas Priest. Check out wrestler and lead singer Chris Jericho and the rest of the guys this Sunday night (11/30) at Trees.
