Tarrant County Resident Tests Negative For Ebola

TARRANT COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Officials with Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) say a resident tested negative for the Ebola virus Friday evening and that further tests are being run to determine the nature of the patient's illness.
Health workers earlier said the person recently returned to North Texas from Liberia. When the individual sought medical attention for one symptom that matches Ebola the TCPH began monitoring.
To protect the patient, no information about their identity was being released.
The first confirmed case of Ebola in the United States was in Dallas. Patient Thomas Eric Duncan was diagnosed with Ebola in September of 2014 after making more than one trip to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. He succumbed to the disease on October 8, 2014.
North Texas nurses Nina Pham and Amber Vinson contracted the disease after treating Duncan.
