DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Police arrested a man hiding in a burglary victim's bathroom after an alleged carjacking and three more attempted carjackings.

Police say Maxxim Elliot Bedford, 26, ran from police after officers responded to a disturbance at 7900 LBJ Freeway on Tuesday, April 19 around 8:50 p.m.

Police say Bedford pulled someone out of their car and escaped.

The next night, around 6:40 p.m., police say Bedford tried to carjack a victim at knife-point in a motel parking lot 12121 Coit Road, but couldn't operate the standard transmission.

Police say he then attempted to carjack two additional victims, however the final intended victim pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Bedford and he ran off.

Officers were actively searching for Bedford when they got a 911 call about someone breaking into an apartment one block south at 12009 Coit Road.

When officers arrived, they found that the suspect had caused damage to a sliding glass door trying to get into the apartment but had already left.

While officers were investigating the burglary attempt, they received a second 911 call regarding a burglary of another apartment in the same complex.

A 90-year-old woman reported a man forced his way into her apartment carrying a large knife and told her he was hiding from police.

Police say Bedford suspect grabbed her by the arm and attempted to drag her at knife-point into her bathroom. The victim broke away from the suspect and got out of her apartment.

Officers entered the victim's apartment and made contact with the suspect who was hiding in the bathroom. The suspect informed the officers that he was armed with a knife and a gun and refused to surrender.

After several hours of negotiations officers were able to take the suspect into custody uninjured.

Maxxim Bedford is in the Dallas County Jail charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief and three counts of Aggravated Robbery.
