State Rep. Wants Funds To Boost Cowboys Stadium

AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM) - Getting bigger events to Cowboys Stadium may hinge on some money from the state.

A bill by State Representative Diane Patrick would expand Texas' Major Events fund to include the Academy of Country Music Awards and both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in attempts to lure them to Arlington.

Jay Burress, president of the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau says the money would be spent to snag the events from other states.
