Shooting Outside Bar In Uptown Dallas Leaves 1 Dead

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A man is dead after a shooting in the Uptown area of Dallas.

Police were called to the One Sette Bar in the 2600 block of McKinney Avenue intersection, near Boll Street, around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

When officers arrived they found the male victim, later identified as Tommie Richard Rodger, lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest. The 32-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead.

According to police, as the investigation into the shooting got underway homicide detectives identified the shooting suspect as Franklin Moore and say he had been involved in a 'disturbance with several patrons inside the club.'

Officials say at some point the 24-year-old suspect was actually thrown out of the bar; at which time he went to a party bus that he owned, got a gun, and returned. After being escorted from the club a second time Moore got into a fight with Rodger that ended when he allegedly shot him several times.

After running from the scene, Moore later surrendered at the Euless Police Department. He was transported back to police in Dallas, interviewed and charged with murder.

Police say the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
