FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - It's hard for drivers along Interstate 30 to miss the Shock Wave roller coaster, which sits alongside the highway at Six Flags Over Texas. But after a new paint job, the double looped roller coaster will be even easier to see. Crews are giving the 34 year old coaster a fresh coat of bright green and blue paint this week.

From all white, to dark blue, from light blue to silver, the Shock Wave has changed it colors several times over the years. The ride, which reaches an elevation of 116 feet and speeds of 55 mph, was voted the "Best Steel Coaster in the World" in 1979. It is still listed among Amusement Today's Top Steel Roller Coasters.
