DALLAS (CBSDFW) - Heavy lightning is most likely responsible for several house fires in North Texas overnight.

Just after midnight a fire in far north Fort Worth did heavy damage to a home on Confidence Drive.

Also in Fort Worth flames left a mess at a home on Oakmont Terrace in the Mira Vista neighborhood, near Benbrook Lake. Commanders ordered crews to battle the fire from the outside because it was simply too dangerous to go in.

In southern Tarrant County, Rendon firefighters doused a two-alarm fire on Wickham Drive. Part of the roof collapsed, but no one was hurt.

And in West Dallas, a large manufacturing plant was heavily damaged by fire on Singleton Ave.

The wind also proved dangerous in North Texas overnight. In Irving some carports were toppled in the Promenade at Valley Ridge apartment complex just southeast of DFW Airport. Some cars were damaged, but no one was hurt.
