Secret Service Agent From Dallas Retires After Colombian Prostitution Scandal

DALLAS (CBSDFW) - David Chaney spent his career protecting some of the world's most influential politicians. On Chaney's public Facebook page, readers can find pictures of him standing watch over former Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin.

The 48-year-old is now trying to protect himself from a scandal involving prostitutes. Chaney and 10 other Secret Service Agents are accused of hiring prostitutes last week in Colombia, just prior to President Barack Obama's arrival to Cartagena.

Chaney, who spent much of his youth in Dallas, was a supervisor with the Secret Service. He was allowed to retire in the wake of the scandal. Another agent was removed from his position, while a third resigned. Eight other secret service agents remain under investigation.

On his Facebook page, Chaney comments about "checking out" Palin as he stands behind her near a waiting Secret Service vehicle. "I was really checking her out, if you know what i mean?" wrote Chaney next to the photo.

His father, George Chaney, was a career secret Service Agent serving under President Dwight Eisenhower and President Lyndon Johnson. George Chaney passed away last year at the age of 86.

Chaney's mother, Margaret "Toddie" Whitaker Chaney, still resides in Dallas and so does his sister, Devon Nassif.

CBS 11 News spoke briefly with Nassif outside her north Dallas home, but she declined to comment about her brother.
