Restored Medals For North Texas Korean War Vet & Vietnam War POW

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Two North Texas military veterans were presented with restored medals and a Presidential Proclamation in honor of their service in the Korean and Vietnam Wars today in Fort Worth.
Congressman Marc Veasey presented Delton Dale Parker with medals he earned during service in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955. For his service during the Korean War, Parker received the Navy Good Conduct Medal, China Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two bronze star appurtenances-service stars, United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Defense Service Medal.
Veasey also presented Michael Killam with a proclamation from President Barack Obama commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War for his service with the United States Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. Killam, who served as a door gunman during the Vietnam War, was captured and spent four months as prisoner of war in 1969.
Congressman Veasey presented the medals during a ceremony at his Fort Worth district office.
