Rangers Fans React On Twitter As Ian Desmond Agrees To Deal With Rockies

By Trevor Peele

Ian Desmond stole bases and the hearts of Texas Rangers fans last season due to his consistent offensive game. In late February, Desmond agreed to a one-year, $8 million deal, while playing in left field. It was a slow offensive start for Desmond but as the season progressed, so did his batting and before we knew it, he became the everyday starter in center field.

When the All-Star break came, Desmond was one of the American League's top hitters and was picked as a reserve to the AL All-Star team. In the conclusion of his only season with the Rangers, Desmond batted .285 with 22 homers, 86 RBIs and 21 steals. As the news broke Tuesday morning that Desmond agreed to a deal with the Colorado Rockies, fans took their happy, sad and confused emotions to Twitter.
