Presbyterian Hospital Holds Town Hall Meetings For Employees

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Addressing "breach in protocol" concerns, officials at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas held a series of town hall meetings Monday for hospital employees.
Each meeting began with a prayer and hospital leaders,including CEO Barclay Berdan, then addressed those in attendance.
"In our collective efforts to improve our knowledge, processes and outcomes, we must not lose sight of the compassion and selflessness a member of our family, and others, have demonstrated to care for others infected with this insidious disease," Berdan told the crowd of hundreds who attended one of the meetings.
Noting that Texas Presbyterian was the first hospital to treat the first Ebola cases diagnosed in the U.S., Berdan said the eyes of the community, state, and nation are on the hospital.
"It is important to know that we are working at all levels with the CDC to coordinate all care related issues, and now we're working closely to provide information about precautions, care and treatment that are consistent and understandable for patients, caregivers, family members and all Americans who are concerned about how this disease is transmitted and treated," he said.
Berdan closed out the meetings telling the caregivers that he knows the hospital's mission and ministry continue, and that he believes the facility will emerge stronger than ever.
