Plano ISD Did Not Notify Police Of Teacher Misconduct

MURPHY (CBS 11 NEWS) - CBS 11 News has learned that Plano school officials never notified Murphy Police about allegations that a teacher molested a student two years ago.

Todd Allen Reich was arrested yesterday. The 38-year-old teacher at Hunt Elementary in Murphy is accused of indecent conduct with a nine-year-old student on multiple occasions in 2009 and 2010.

A nine-year-old says Reich fondled her at the school and threatened her if she reported it.

Parents found out today that school officials knew about the allegations two years ago and only warned the gym coach to stay away from the alleged victim.

He continued working at the school until this week.

"I just wish that somebody would have done something about it sooner," says Cynthia Tran, parent.

Sources tell CBS 11 that detectives are interviewing students at Murphy Middle School because they believe their are more victims.

Parents are demanding to know why the Plano Independent School District apparently took no action two years ago and allowed Reich to continue teaching.

"We bought a house in this area because of this school, and it kind of makes us second guess if we should be staying around here or we shouldn't because I've got kids that will be attending in a few years," says parent Sana Rizvi.

PISD did not respond to our calls for comment.

Meanwhile, Reich is free on bond.
