Plane Makes Emergency Landing On Arlington Highway
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A small plane has made an emergency landing on the overpass that connects two major Arlington highways.
The single-engine Cessna came to rest on the Highway 287 southbound flyover that connects to westbound I-20 in west Arlington.
CBS 11 has learned that the pilot is not hurt, but the aircraft did hit a truck.
"We were heading west on 287 to get on 20, and as we come over 20, this plane was flying straight at us. I mean, he was coming straight at us," said John Cornett, a passenger in the truck.
"I yelled at my buddy who was driving...I was in the passenger seat. As soon as he cut to the right, I think it was the back wing of the plane hit the front windshield of the truck and that was pretty much it."

Cornett said another passenger, riding on the driver's side of the truck, was taken to the hospital out of precaution. "He's alright. He's a tough guy," said Cornett.
CBS 11 has learned the plane was towing a banner when the pilot reported to air traffic controllers that he had lost oil pressure. The pilot said he would drop the banner and make an emergency landing.
The banner landed in the backyard of an Arlington home.
The FAA is investigating.
