Mother Of Denton Break-In Suspect Speaks

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A deadly shooting investigation in Denton takes a strange twist. CBS 11 has learned the identities of the two people killed.
Terrence Tusan was a former standout football player for Trinity High School. 18-year-old Jakobi Gipson lived in Arlington, but Gipson's mother doesn't know why her son was in Denton.
"I love my son. My son was not a bad person, and the way that he's being painted as this person and what they're saying because the whole story is not out there," Toni Gipson said about her son, Jakobi.
She insists her son was not a violent kid. She believes he and 22-year-old Terrance Tusan got mixed up with people who led them to the CastleRock Apartments in Denton, where police say both were killed as suspects in a home invasion.
Tusan's mother asked her son's former coach to speak on behalf of the family.
"I want them to know that this is not some, you know common guy on the street. This is a junior about to be a senior in college. He was going to graduate from Howard University," Clarence Nevels said.
Tusan was well-known as the MVP for Trinity High School's 2009 state championship team. Toni Gipson said her son, known as Kobi had just turned and also had a promising future.
"I am 100% sure that I know that if he knew what was going to transpire, he would not have gone," Gipson said.
Investigators say a third suspect was with Tusan and Gipson the night of the home invasion, but his identity has not been released. Now Gipson's mother has a message for anyone who knows where he is.
"For my son's sake, for Terrence's mom's sake, do the right thing. If anyone has any information, then they need to call the police," Gipson said.
We asked Denton Police about that third suspect. They would only say they do not know where he is, but they're pretty sure he's not in Denton.
