DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - It was a Thursday night of food and fun but also massive fundraising for the families of the fallen Dallas officers.
Local sports stars attended a charity auction at Dos Jefes in Uptown to raise money for the five families of officers who were gunned down.
By the end of the evening, the event raised $280,000.
Among the more expensive items auctioned off $19,000 dinner with Dallas Cowboys Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Daryl Johnston.
Cary Williams and Paul Smyth had the highest bid.
Like a lot North Texans they were deeply affected by the brutal killings of the Dallas Police officers.
"Some of the families were actually here for me it made it a lot more personal to me for at least a great way to show support," says Smyth.
The widow and family of Patrick Zamarripa attended the event which was sponsored by CBS Radio's 105.3 The Fan.
