MESQUITE(CBSDFW.COM) - The girlfriend of the Mesquite man in jail accused of supporting ISIS says Bilal Abood is not a terrorist. Barbara Strebeck says she thinks he's been set up by the FBI.  She insists the laptops federal authorities seized were only used to play video games, not recruit for ISIS.

Strebeck lived with Bilal Abood for the past four years at a small Mesquite apartment.

Part of the case against Abood is that he allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS and would correspond with it's leaders overseas through the internet.  His girlfriend doesn't buy it.

She says he worked, helped neighbors, took care of her kids and never mentioned anything to arose suspicion.  She believes the FBI targeted him because of the failed terrorist attack in Garland last week.

When asked how she knows Abood is not a terrorist, Strebeck said,  "I've been with him 5 years and the way he handles me and loves me and my grandkids and kids."

Strebeck says he only traveled to Syria because he was quote "curious about what was going on."

She also says she believes federal authorities are retaliating against Abood because she says they approached him about being a spy when he tried to travel to Syria and he refused.
