Flood Control A Growing Challenge At Lake Ray Roberts

LAKE RAY ROBERTS(CBSDFW.COM) - They're trying to strike a balance at Lake Ray Roberts. The Army Corps of Engineers is working to keep the lake from overflowing without flooding homes downstream.
They upped the output from the lake Wednesday in order to make room for new rainfall coming this weekend. Maximum of 7,000 cubic feet a second, 3-1/2 times more than Tuesday.
Lake water joins other creeks then the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. That was an area feared flood prone Tuesday, but not so much Wednesday. But try telling that to folks who live along the Trinity River keeping an eye on the sky and an eye on the river.
"Well, we're very worried," says Misti Ross. "We're worried it's going to come up to our house. But we're prepared to leave if we get that call that says to evacuate."
How much is 7,000 cubic feet of water a second? It's estimated that's enough to fill AT&T Stadium in about four hours.
