MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - A Plano fireman was arrested after police said that he molested a child. Lt. Larry Combest is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child and attempted indecency with a child.

The 45-year-old fireman is a neighbor and considered a friend by the family whose kids were allegedly touched and fondled.

Sabrina Boston with the McKinney Police Department said that the investigation began when a woman came to them with the complaint. "Alleging that two children had been touched and fondled by a male neighbor and family friend," Boston explained on Wednesday. "Detectives determined that the suspect, who has a child close in age to the victims, would occasionally watch the children overnight."

Boston said, during the investigation, authorities learned about a similar incident that occurred 10 years earlier in Wylie. They have contacted the Wylie Police Department regarding this case.

Combest is a Plano Fire-Rescue lieutenant and has been with the department since 2002. He had been most recently assigned to the department's training section. He is now on paid administrative leave after the allegations.

Combest remains behind bars on an $850,000 bond. Boston stated that the investigation is ongoing. "We don't know if there are other victims," she said, "but certainly, if there are, we want to encourage them to please reach out."
