Escaped Murder Suspect Thought To Be Headed To North Texas Captured In Louisiana

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) — A murder suspect who escaped custody in Oklahoma has been caught.

Authorities thought Stoney Ellis was hiding out in Red Oak, which is just south of Dallas, but our sister station in Texoma is reporting the 43-year-old was arrested overnight in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Ellis had escaped with two others from the Bryan County Jail on Monday. In addition to the murder charge Ellis is facing he was also wanted on a charge of "accident involving death" out of Ellis County.
