Earth Day Dallas 2013 Kicks Off
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Earth Day Dallas is a two-day festival going on at Fair Park this weekend.
As part of a national effort to boost recycling rates, Honest Tea, in partnership with Earth Day Dallas (EDD) is doing something special to accomplish that goal. There will be a very noticeable way to dispose of some items. "A 12-foot tall recycling bin; the big blue recycling bin. You won't be able to miss it," Honest Tea PR director Dan Foreman said of the reciprocal they're placing at EDD.
Earth Day Dallas is an annual event that was first held in 2011.
This year's free-admission event highlights the green lifestyle choices of North Texas residents and businesses. They are choices that EDD says can lower the cost of living, improve health, and help save the environment.
"We're gonna try to crowd source as many empty beverage containers as possible to do our part to help make the Earth Day Dallas as sustainable, and environmentally friendly as possible," Foreman said.
Earth Day Dallas 2013 is being held at Fair Park in Dallas. The event features a variety of activities for all ages. EDD runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and wraps up Sunday.
