Dallas County Most Wanted Fugitive, Gang Member Arrested

UPDATED 11.23.2015: Markeith McWright, 32, faces one count of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of assault family violence with a previous conviction. He was arrested on outstanding warrants for those charges Nov. 18, two days after he was added to the most wanted list, records show.

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) have added Markeith McWright to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list.

Authorities say McWright is a Crips gang member with a violent criminal history. He has previously been arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery, Assault, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) and has served time in the Texas prison system on three separate occasions.

The 32-year-old, who is currently wanted for parole and probation violations, has ties to the Dallas, Mesquite and Balch Springs areas.

McWright stands 5'8" tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has a tattoo of the name "Arlene" on right side of neck, and other tattoos on both arms, his chest, back and abdomen.

Anyone with information about McWright or any other Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitive or sex offender is asked to contact authorities. There are five different ways to provide anonymous tips:

• Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 252-TIPS (8477)
• Text the letters DPS and then your tip to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone
• Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking the link under the picture
• Tips can also be submitted on Facebook, just click the "SUBMIT A TIP" link underneath the "About" section
• Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App. Mobile is available for iPhone users through the Apple App Store and for Android users on Google Play.
