Dallas VA Hospital Needing Volunteers For Holidays

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Christmas came early at the Dallas VA Hospital Thursday.

Volunteers, many of whom are veterans or active military themselves, packed and delivered some 400 gift bags for patients who otherwise might not have a holiday at all.

Bobbie Kay Scoggins, the hospital's chief of volunteering services, says the annual packing and delivering of the gift bags is a highlight of the year for both volunteers and the patients who receive them.

The gift bags were sponsored by Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Paralyzed Veterans of America.

If you have time to volunteer, VA Volunteer Services needs you.  You can call  (214) 857-0428 to sign up.
